Journalist Kazi Zahid dies

Kazi Zahid, a news editor (international affairs) of ATN Bangla, died of cardiac arrest at his office in the city Saturday. He was 57, reports BSS.
He left behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
Kazi Zahid also worked with different dailies, including Daily Khobor, Daily Rupali and Daily Jonota. He was an active member of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ).
He was elected in different posts of the union during his long carreer.
President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Secretary General Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan and DUJ President Altaf Mahmud and General Secretary Omar Faruque expressed deep shock at the death Kazi Zahid.
They recalled the contribution of Zahid to the field of journalism as well as trade union activities.
The leaders conveyed deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for peace of the departed soul.
