Today (Monday) is the second death anniversary of eminent journalist Reazuddin Ahmed, says a statement.
He passed away on this day in 2021 at the age of 77.
Late Reazuddin Ahmed was the founding chief editor and managing director of The Financial Express and the founder editor and publisher of News Today and Financial Herald.
He was elected president of the National Press Club for four terms and also served as the president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) twice.
Reazuddin was the chairperson of South-Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) and member of Bangladesh Press Council.
Throughout his career, he championed freedom of the press and the rights of journalists, and made invaluable contribution to Bangladesh's democratic movements.
He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1993 for his outstanding contribution to journalism and national life.
