Journalists can make JS more effective, says Deputy Speaker

Noting that Parliament reflects the hopes and aspirations of people, Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah said on Friday journalists can make parliament more effective by playing their due role, reports UNB.
"The National Parliament reflects people's hopes and aspirations. If journalists can raise the hopes and aspirations, the House will be more effective," he said addressing the closing ceremony of a training workshop for journalists covering parliament in the capital.
Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) arranged the workshop at its office in the city, said a press release.
Fazle Rabbi said the media alongside the government will have to work sincerely on public interests for making Bangladesh a middle-income country by 2021.
Saying Parliament's relations with journalists very important for projecting its activities among people, he said the Jatiya Sangsad will have to take initiatives in this regard.
The Deputy Speaker said parliament will take initiatives to improve the professional skill of journalists and ensure their security.
