Journo dies of heart attack

MYMENSINGH, Oct 8 (UNB): Golam Faruq, managing editor of the Bonik Barta, died of cardiac arrest here on Monday night. He was 48.

Faruq, also son of Awami League MP from Mymensingh-6 constituency Moslem Uddin, breathed his last at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) around 10pm.

Family members were preparing for celebrating his 49th birthday at their Nahar Road residence in the district town around 8:30pm when Faruq complained of chest pain.

He was whisked off to the MMCH where he died while undergoing treatment

Meanwhile, Golam Faruq was buried at his family graveyard at Kushmile village in Fulbaria village after Maghrib prayers on Tuesday following two namaz-e-janazas.
