Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Information Ministry suggested Thursday that the government take steps for massive campaign in the media to raise public awareness against food adulteration, reports UNB.
The JS body also recommended immediate effective steps to stop the unapproved channels run by cable TV operators.
The parliamentary committee came up with the suggestions in its 2nd meeting held in the Parliament Secretariat with its chairman AKM Rahmatullah in the chair.
The meeting discussed the proposed national broadcasting policy and recommended to finalise the policy immediately.
Committee members Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Sukumar Ranjan Ghosh, Simeen Hussain Rimi, Mrinal Kanti Das, Saimum Sarwar Kamal and Salauddin Ahmed (Mukti) attended the meeting. Information Secretary Mortuza Ahmed was present.
