JS body wants Rajuk to allot flats instead of land

Rajuk should go for selling readymade flats instead of the current system of allocating land to selected citizens, the parliamentary standing committee on the Housing and Public Works Ministry recommended Tuesday, reports UNB.

The committee made the recommendation in its second meeting held with its chairman Dabirul Islam in the chair at the Parliament Secretariat building.

The meeting also recommended formation of two sub-committees to review the policy of Rajuk flat and plot allotment.  It called for investigation into any irregularity in its public allotment of land to selected citizens.

It urged the finance ministry to release the last instalment of funds to implement the ministry's projects.

Housing and Public Works Minister Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain, Kamal

Ahmed Majumder, Zahid Ahsan Russel, Sadhan Chandra Majumder, AKM Fazlul Haque, Abu Zahir, Abu Saleh Mohammad Sayeed and Nurjahan Begum were present in the meeting.
