JS passes Tk 561b supplementary budget

The Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Monday approved a supplementary budget of Tk 561.17 billion (Tk 56,117 crore) for fiscal year (FY) 2025-26 to cover additional spending needs across various ministries and divisions. reports UNB.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury placed the supplementary budget in the House on June 11 along with the national budget for the next FY.
In the FY26, the total budget was Tk 7,900 billion in favour of 62 ministries and divisions.
In the supplementary budget, the expenditure in 27 ministries and divisions increased by approximately Tk 561.17 billion while expenditures in 35 ministries and divisions were cut by approximately Tk 593.48 billion.
