The general students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Monday threatened to go for tough movement against the ward quota.
At a press conference held in front of the central cafeteria, the students said they would wage tougher movement if the authority concerned takes steps to enrol those students who fail the admission tests.
They also submitted a memorandum to Vice-chancellor Prof Farzana Islam demanding abolition of the quota system. The students urged the VC not to enrol the students who cannot pass the upcoming admission tests.
However, the officers and employees under the banner of 'Karmokarta karmochari Oikya Forum' started work abstention demanding that the authority enrol 96 students from ward quota who failed the admission tests in the academic session of 2014-15.
They also threatened to wage tougher movement if the authority doesn't meet their demand.
