RANGAMATI, Oct 31: Danuttam Kathin Chibar Dan, the greatest religious festival of the Buddhist communities in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), concluded Friday at Rangamati Rajban Bihar amid offering prayers by thousands of devotees and donation of 'Chibar (cloths which are weared by monks) to the monks in the hill town of Rangamati.
Sadhana Nanda Mohasthabir alias Bana Bhante, chief and most venerable monk in the Rajban Bihar, delivered the sermon from the holy 'Tripitak' in the function.
Chakma Raja barrister Devasish Roy, Industries Minister Dilip Barua, state minister for CHT affairs Dipankar Talukder, Thailand's ambassador to Bangladesh Chalermpol Tanchit and adviser of Prime Minister of Thailand Supatra Masdit and chairman of Rangamati Hill District Council Nikhil Kumar Chakma attended the function.
