Kazi Farms Ltd's rejoinder and The FE's response

Kazi Farms Ltd's rejoinder:
Kazi Farms Ltd has issued a rejoinder regarding a report published in the June 4, 2024 issue of the Financial Express under the headline "Feed prices remain high despite record maize harvest, low rates: Poultry, fisheries & livestock farmers see little to no benefit." The rejoinder claims the actual minimum price of corn at feed mills in the northern region was Tk 29.10 per kg, contrary to the report which cited Tk 28 per kg based on information from Dinajpur and Nilphamari farmers and traders. Kazi Farms stated that they were purchasing corn at Tk 30.20 per kg.
The company also refuted the report's claim that agents from large feed companies were offering lower prices for maize, asserting that Kazi Farms has not appointed any agents for maize purchases this year. Furthermore, the rejoinder countered a statement made by Sumon Hawlader, president of the Bangladesh Poultry Association (BPA), regarding a feed mill syndicate controlling the maize market during the harvest, labeling it as 'untrue.'
The FE's response:
The Financial Express prepared the report based on information from farmers and traders in Dinajpur and Nilphamari one and a half weeks back. Commodity prices can fluctuate, and the price might vary within a period. The statements about agents offering lower prices were sourced from discussions with farmers and traders in Dinajpur and Nilphamari, referring generally to all large and medium-scale companies operating in the Rangpur and Dinajpur divisions. The mention of a 'syndicate' was attributed solely to Mr. Sumon Hawlader, president of the BPA.
