Keep eyes on newly appointed docs, says Nasim

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim asked civil surgeons to monitor whether the 6,000 newly appointed doctors are working in their respective areas, reports UNB
He said this while addressing a function marking the launching of a report, 'Coverage Evalua-tion Survey 2013', at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city.
The Extended Programme on Immunisation (EPI) and Health and Family Welfare Ministry published the report.
Pointing at civil surgeons, the minister said, "You've some responsibilities and duties to the common people of the country. So it's your duty to monitor whether newly appointed doctors are working properly or not."
Appreciating the implementation of immunisation programme, Nasim said Bangladesh has set an example on immunisation programme.
State Minister for Health & Family Welfare Jahid Malek Swapan, Director General of the Health Department Prof Dr Din Mohammad Nurul Haque, Health Secretary MM Niaz Uddin and World Health Organization (WHO) representative Jayantha Liyanage also spoke at the programme.
