The Nazrul Institute organised Wednesday a discussion followed by an award-giving ceremony at the National Museum auditorium in observance of the 38th anniversary of death of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, reports BSS.
The programme was featured by a discussion on the poems and works of the legendary poet. Eminent researchers and personalities took part in discussion.
Nazrul Padak was conferred to granddaughter of Kazi Nazrul Islam, Khilkhil Kazi and Nazrul Sangeet singer Nashid Kamal for their contributions to Nazrul's works.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor addressed the programme as the chief guest while Cultural Affairs Secretary Dr Ranajit Kumar Biswas, Director General of Bangladesh National Museum Faizul Latif Chowdhury, Director-General of Bangla Academy Shamsuzzaman Khan spoke as special guests.
UNB add: The 38th death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam was observed in the country Wednesday in a befitting manner.
