Khulna University closed sine die

KHULNA, Apr 6 (UNB): Khulna University (KU) was closed sine die Tuesday morning as violence broke out on the campus over a trifling matter Monday night.
The university syndicate in an emergency meeting with its Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Saifuddin Shah in the chair took the decision at about 1:20 am.
The students were asked to vacate their dormitories by 6:30 am.
Campus sources said that some students of Architecture discipline picked up a quarrel with daily Prothom Alo photographer Shah Newaz's brother, who had flexiload shop, over giving flexiload and set fire to the shop a week ago.
As a sequel to previous enmity they caught Shah Newaz and confined him to a room of the university when he went to the campus for taking photographs of Prothom Alo Bandhusabha programme Monday afternoon.
