KSA orders deposit of $2.0 billion in Yemen central bank

The custodian of the two holy mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, king of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has issued a directive to deposit two billion US dollars in the Central Bank of Yemen as the kingdom's support to the brotherly Yemeni people, according to a press release of Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Dhaka on Monday.

The directive came considering the sufferings of the Yemeni people and helping them to face the economic burdens caused by the crimes and violations of the Huthi militias, that loot the state's capabilities and seize the revenues of the government organisations, including the sale of petroleum products and the collection of amounts in Yemeni Riyals to achieve their personal interests without fear of religion or conscience.

The total deposit of the kingdom in the Central Bank of Yemen reached three billion US dollars in the context of enhancing the financial and economic situation in the Republic of Yemen, in particular Yemeni Riyal that will be reflected positively on the living conditions of Yemeni citizens, the release added.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirms its continued support for the Yemeni government and its assistance to perform duties in order to restore the security and stability of Yemen, the release further said.
