Kuwait government has sanctioned one million US dollars for the flood-affected people of Bangladesh, reports UNB.
The amount has been provided to Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) to enable it to carry out emergency relief and rehabilitation work in the worst affected areas of Bangladesh, said a Kuwait Embassy press release Wednesday.
KRCS has drawn up contingency plan to implement its assistance programme.
It had undertaken similar programmes in Bangladesh in the past in coordination with concerned Bangladeshi organisations and has wide experience in disaster management and carried out relief and rehabilitation operations in many countries, including Bangladesh, said the embassy release.
