Land dispute ends up in killing of 2 siblings

NILPHAMARI, Jan 19 (UNB): Two siblings were killed and seven people injured in an attack over a land dispute at Jamirbari Khatampara village in Domar upazila on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Jahidul Islam, 53, and his brother Jahangir Islam, 40, sons of Jaminar Rahman of the village.

Locals alleged that Jahangir had long been at loggerheads with his stepbrother, Anisul Haque, over the ownership of a piece of land.

On Monday morning, four brothers-Idris, Jahinur, Jahangir and Jahidul-went to sow Boro seedlings on the disputed land.
