Largest exhibition centre to be built at Purbachal

With the Chinese assistance, the government is going to launch a project to build the country's largest exhibition centre, reports BSS.
The permanent establishment to be built at Purbachal, on the outskirts of the capital, would also be the house of Dhaka International Trade Fair. The "Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre" would be built on 20 acres of land involving Tk 7.96 billion.
The project would be placed before the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC), which is scheduled to sit tomorrow, for final approval, said an official of Planning Ministry.
The official said the Chinese Government would provide Tk 6.25 billion as grant while the government would give Tk 1.38 billion from the national exchequer and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) will contribute Tk 320 million from own fund.
