Latif Khan dies

Lt Col (Retd) M A Latif Khan died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka on Wednesday due to old-age related complications while undergoing treatment. He was 79 years old.
His funeral arrangements include namaz-e-janaza after Jum'ah prayer today (Friday) and burial at the military graveyard in Baridhara.
Mr Khan was the first director general of BKSP, the country's premier sports institute, from 1987 to 1991.
He was a member of the BNP Chairman's Advisory Council. BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman expressed deep sorrow at his death and remembered him as a patriotic politician, respected professional, and dedicated individual.
Latif Khan's political commitment was also highlighted, including his faith in the principles of Ziaur Rahman and the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia.
At the time of his death, he was the acting president of Bangladesh Boxing Federation.
Various sports bodies, including Bangladesh Olympic Association, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), and Bangladesh Boxing Federation, also extended condolences to his family and acknowledged his contributions to the sports sector. He also held several key positions, including the manager of the national cricket team, chairman of BCB Game Development Committee, and executive committee member of the board.
