Law enforcers arrest 10 in city

The law enforcing agencies personnel have arrested 10 individuals over their alleged involvement of killing a local BNP leader centering the victory of Brazil during the ongoing World Cup in the capital's Adabar area.
The deceased BNP leader Abdul Bashar was allegedly chopped to death by the detainees.
Additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police ( DMP) of Mohammadpur and Adabar areas under Tejgaon circle Md Jewel Rana said that the 10 persons were nabbed during raids by police, RAB and detective branch ( DB) personnel at different places in the capital and outside on Thursday and Friday.
He said that police had nabbed three persons from Nabodaya Housing, Adabar area in the city on Thursday. They are : Soaib, Arman and Nayan.
He said that family members of deceased Abul Bashar went to their village for his ( Abul Bashar) funeral.
He said that they (family members) would file a case at Adabar Police Station after returning to the capital after funeral of the deceased.
Md Jewel Rana said that the detained three persons nabbed by police would be shown arrested in the case to be filed.
He further said that the detective branch (DB) police of DMP also nabbed four persons while the Rapid Action Battalion arrested three persons.
The names of persons the DB arrested from Sahebnagar area under Ishwarganj upazila of Mymensingh on Thursday night are : Ripon (27), Nirab (25), Majnu Mia (60) and Mizanur Rahman (40).
Police said the brawl erupted following joyous procession brought out by some local teenage boys following Brazil's victory against Japan on Tuesday (June 26,2026) , making huge sounds bitting drums and fluke.
At the moment one person named Habib assaulted physically another person named Nirab.
Later president of Adabar unit BNP Saddam Hossain (35) has again beaten Nirab on the following day at Nobodaya Housing Bazar.
