Law enforcers recover Indian contraband items

JOYPURHAT, Aug 27 (UNB): Law enforcers, in separate drives, seized Indian contraband items worth over Tk 1.4 million and arrested two persons from different frontier areas of the district Sunday.
The sources of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) said they seized a private car loaded with Indian sari worth Tk 0.5 million at Kichok on Joypurhat-Mokamtola road. None was arrested in this connection.
Another patrol team of BDR recovered Indian sari, three-pieces and clothes worth over Tk 0.5 million, which was left behind by the smugglers at Chandipur of the district.
In a joint drive, BDR and RAB seized Indian sari, fruits, cardamom and steel-made products.
