Law minister now to meet SC judges on November 16

Law Minister Anisul Huq's prescheduled meeting with the judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has been postponed, a law ministry official said, reports BSS.
"The minister was scheduled to hold a meeting with the apex court judges on Thursday regarding the service rules and conduct of lower court judges. Now the meeting will be held on the evening of November 16," law ministry spokesperson Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim told the news agency.
Earlier on November 03, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court allowed the state time until December 03 for finalising service rules and conduct for lower court judges by issuing a gazette in this regard.
On July 27, Law Minister Anisul Huq handed Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha the draft of the service rules.
Following handing over of the draft, Huq had told reporters that as per rules the chief justice would go through the draft and send it to the President along with his recommendations, if any.
