The well-marked low over west central Bay and adjoining Andhra coast moved slightly northwards and until 12:00 noon is lying over west central Bay and adjoining northwest Bay off Orissa coast, reports UNB.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a northwesterly direction, said a special bulletin of Met Office.
Under its influence deep convection is taking place over north Bay and squally weather may continue over the maritime ports.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice. They are also advised not to venture into deep sea.
