LPG price unchanged at Tk 121.25 per kg

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has kept the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unchanged for the month of December at Tk 121.25 per kg, reports UNB.

The new price was made effective from 6 pm on Tuesday.

BERC also said the prices of other sizes of LPG cylinders -- from 5.5 kg to 45 kg - will remain the same. The information was disclosed at a BERC press briefing held at its Dhaka office on Tuesday.

LPG prices will remain unchanged in the local markets as Bangladeshi LPG operators have been normally importing their products from the Middle-Eastern market on the basis of Saudi contract price, which did not change, BERC officials added.

As per the BERC decision, the price of "auto gas", or the LPG used for motor vehicles, also remained at Tk 66.81 per litre including value added tax.

The price of LPG, marketed by state-owned LP Gas Company, will also remain the same as it is locally produced with a market share of less than 5 per cent.
