A diabetic hospital will be opened at Madhukhali upazaila headquarter of Faridpur district in March this year to serve the local patients, says a press release.
The decision was taken at a meeting Friday attended by a group of elites comprising high officials of government and semi-government offices, private organisations, doctors, educationists and engineers hailing from Madhukhali.
They exchanged views about the launching of the diabetic hospital. The idea of establishing Madhukhali Diabetic Hospital came from local social worker Mr Abu Sayeed who had been playing an important role for establishing the hospital for last few years.
The meeting was attended, among others, by philanthropist Abu Sayeed, Shah Md Emdadul Haq, joint secretary of Ministry of Railway, Dr Habibur Rahman, professor of Sociology of Dhaka University, Mr Khosrul Alam, dy director, Ministry of Education, Mr Anwar Hossain; senior GM (Admn & Com), Sonargaon Textiles Ltd, Dr Ziauddin and Mr Zahirul Islam, vice-principal, Mohammadpur Model College, Dhaka.
