Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) celebrated its 55th founding anniversary on Friday.
A ceremony was held on this occasion at the Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the organisation's central office in the capital.
In line with the slogan "Let us build capable organisers, let us strengthen our organisation," the programme began at 11:00 am on the day with a flag hoisting event.
The national flag was raised by the BMP's president, Dr Fauzia Moslem, while the organisation's general secretary Maleka Banu hoisted the organisational flag.
Dr. Fauzia Moslem presided over the ceremony as president of the central committee of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad.
