CHITTAGONG, July 02: As a part of the ongoing drive against the corrupt officials of Forest Department, Chittagong and Rangamati Forest Circles have been re-shuffled. Conservator of Forest of the Rangamati Forest Circle Saiful Islam has been assigned with the charge of new Conservator of Chittagong Forest Circle , sources said.
Services of Conservator of Chittagong Atiqul Azam and Divisional Forest officer of Chittagong North Tapan Kumar Dey have been placed under suspension as they are hiding in the wake of the Joint Forces operation.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Chittagong coastal Forest Department Abdul Khaleque has been appointed in the place of DFO Chittagong Forest Division Dewan Jafrul Hasan who was arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) earlier.
Director of the Sitakunda based Echo Park, Zahid Hossain, has been assigned with additional Charge of Chittagong Wildlife Preservation Department.
On the otherhand, following the arrest of DFO of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) South Forest Division Ashit Ranjan Paul, DFO Innas Ali of Chittagong Hill Tracts North Forest Division has been assigned to the former's position.
DFO Ratan Kumar Majumder has been assigned with the responsibility in the Kaptai Pulpwood Garden Division, sources added.
