Major reshuffle in police high-ups

The government has shaken up several key positions in the police, including their crimes investigation, amid the ongoing political turmoil, reports bdnews24.com.
The home ministry issued a circular on Thursday announcing changes to key 19 positions.
Just two weeks ago, the new Inspector General of Police, new chiefs of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) took office.
Additional Inspector General Sheikh Himayet Hossain will lead Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Its current head, Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mosharraf Hossain, has been attached to the police headquarters.
Additional DIG SM Ruhul Amin, who has recently returned from a UN peacekeeping mission, will helm Railway Police's Dhaka Range.
DIG Mallick Fakhrul Islam will head the Highway Police.
Additional DIG Mohammad Ali Miah, who was posted at the Special Branch, has been appointed chief of Highway Police's Rajshahi Range.
