Man slaughters two sons, attempts suicide in capital

A man allegedly slaughtered his two sons and attempted to kill himself in Pallabi area of the capital on Saturday.

Locals said Mohammad Ahad, 40, slit the throats of his sons Rehan, 7, and Musa, 3, with a sharp knife following a family feud.

After killing his sons, Ahad tried to commit suicide by slitting his throat.

On information, police rushed to the spot and rescued and sent Ahad to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Sub-Inspector of Pallabi Police Station Majedul said that a father killed his two sons by slitting their throats in a house at Baigartek in Pallabi.

Later, he attempted suicide by slashing his own throat with a knife, he added.

The bodies of the deceased were recovered and sent to DMCH for postmortem.
