Man strangulated to death by his in-laws

SIRAJGANJ, Sept 2 (UNB): A man was allegedly strangulated to death by his in-laws at Sheikhpara village of Bera Upazila of Pabna district Saturday.
Local people said Jahangir Alam (21), son of Moyen Uddin of Malshapara area of Sirajganj municipality, married Nurjahan, daughter of Nur Karmakar of Sheikhpara village under Bera Upazila of Pabna district, around one-and-half-a-years ago.
But since their marriage they were passing an unhappy conjugal life and consequently some months back Nurjahan returned to her father's house.
On Thursday Jahangir went to his father-in-law's house to bring Nurjahan back. But Friday night following an altercation in-laws of Jahangir allegedly strangulated him to death.
Sources said, later, they took the body to Konabari area of Kamakhanda Upazila by a microbus and left it at a remote place at dead of night.
His relatives found the body of Jahangir Saturday and on information police sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed.
Another report from Brahmanbaria adds: A Juba League activist was found dead at Chhatura Sharif under Akhaura Upazila Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Kawser Mia (40), of Dighatia village of the upazila.
