'Maternity allowance' disbursed among distressed women

RAJSHAHI, Feb 19: Tanore upazila authorities and the women affairs department jointly organised a function to disburse 'maternity allowance' among 15 distressed mothers of Talanda union under Tanore thana of the district recently.
Each distressed mother got taka 300 as allowance per month. A total of taka 1,800 was disbursed to a mother at a time as allowance for six-months.
Women affairs officer of Tanore Mahbuba Sultana handed over the money to all 15 women.
The function was attended, among others, by Talanda Union Parishad Chairman Abul Kashem, women members of the UP and the local journalists.
