BARISAL, Oct 3 (BSS): A general meeting of the Hindu community was held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner here today for peaceful celebration of the upcoming Durga Puja.
Deputy Commissioner Monjur-e-Elahi presided over the meeting where presidents, vice-presidents, general secretaries and members of the district, upazila and union puja committees were present.
The meeting unanimously decided to celebrate the puja in a befitting manner to keep the sound low of drum-beat and other musical instruments so that it would not disturb people of other religions and to minimise lighting and decoration for saving the electricity.
