Both mercury and rate of humidity increased in Dhaka on Tuesday even though the capital city experienced a light rainfall on the day.
The Met Office recoded 09 millimeters of rain in Dhaka until 6:0pm on the day.
However, the maximum temperature in Dhaka inched up to 34.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday from 33.5 degrees in the previous day.
The rate of humidity was also recorded at 92 per cent on the day compared to previous day's rate of 85 per cent, according to the Met Office.
On the other hand, the country's highest temperature was recorded at 35.2 degrees Celsius in Mymensingh and Sayedpur while the highest rainfall was 19 millimeters in Cox's Bazar on Tuesday.
The Met Office, however, forecasted that rain or thunder shower accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattrogram divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions today (Wednesday).
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.
The sun sets at 5:27pm today (Wednesday) and will rise at 5:59am tomorrow (Thursday).
