The mercury further rose on Saturday in the city amid almost no rain and low wind speed.
Humidity of 81 per cent in the morning to 67 per cent in the evening caused a surge in temperature further on the day, said the Met Office.
The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 34.4 degrees Celsius on the day until 6:00 pm which was 32.8 degrees on Friday.
The wind speed was only 7.0 kph on the day on an average which raised the heat further.
The country's highest temperature of 35.6 degrees was recorded in Jashore and lowest temperature was measured at 24.2 degrees in Dighinala until 6:00 pm on Saturday.
The country's highest rainfall of 55 mm was recorded in Tangail between Friday morning and Saturday morning.
Light to moderate rain was likely to occur at many places in Rangpur, Mynensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions.
Rain might also occur at a few places of Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Dhaka divisions in next twenty four hours starting from Saturday 6:00 pm.
The sun sets at 6:03 pm today (Sunday) and rises at 5:43 am tomorrow (Monday).
