The Dhaka metro rail company resumes train operation through Mirpur-10 station today (Tuesday), nearly seven months after its closure.
Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Mohammad Abdur Rouf made the announcement at a press conference on Monday.
He, however, refrained from making any comment on total cost of repair of the station, but said it is still under calculation.
"All trains will now stop at Mirpur 10 station from Tuesday," he said, adding that the station has been ready after necessary work without taking any fund from the new government.
When asked about the estimation earlier by the then MD about loss of Tk 5.0 billion, Mr Rouf said the damage has been tried to assess in phases, as well as tried to find options of using locally available materials later on.
"The earlier MD can clear how the Tk 5.0 billion estimation was calculated. But calculation initially is done by eye estimation. Then technical committee assesses after inspection and later another estimation is calculated item wise," he cleared.
