Metrorail's Agargaon-Motijheel section opening pushed to November 4

The inauguration date of the MRT line-6 of Dhaka Metro Rail from Agargaon to Motijheel has been rescheduled again this time to November 4 instead of October 29, reports UNB.

Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary ABM Aminullah Noori confirmed the matter to the news agency on Friday.

Asked about the reason for the second delay in the inauguration date of the Metro Rail Agargaon-Motijheel section, the secretary said that the inauguration date has been postponed due to the schedule of the Prime Minister. There is no other reason.

Earlier, on October 9, the inauguration date of the Dhaka Metro Rail from Agargaon to Motijheel was rescheduled to October 29 instead of October 20.

On September 18, Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to inaugurate the Agargaon-Motijheel part of Dhaka Metro Rail on October 20, 2023.

There are seven stations on the Agargaon to Motijheel part of Dhaka Metro Rail.
