Microbus plunges into city's Hatirjheel Lake, none hurt

A microbus plunged into the city's Hatirjheel Lake after breaking railing of a bridge on Saturday.

No one was injured in the incident, that took place around 10.00am, Hatirjheel police station officer -in- charge (OC) Abu Mohammad Fazlul Karim said.

He also said the vehicle plunged into the lake, after the driver lost control over the microbus near Police Plaza en route to Basabo from Mirpur area.

The OC said locals rescued the driver Abdul Kalam. Later, he was given first aid in a local hospital.

Two units of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and rescued the vehicle around 10:50am, sources said.
