State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said Monday militant financing continues in the country through the loopholes of financial institutions, reports UNB.
"An action plan is being worked out to curb the financing of militants," he told reporters after a meeting on anti-militancy measures at his ministry.
The state minister said the government is now examining the sources of financing militants and who and which institutions are involved in it.
"Sometimes militancy emerges with its ugly face in the country and sometimes it just poses threats," he added.
Asaduzzaman said the issues relating to militancy and its financing were discussed at the meeting attended by high officials from Bangladesh Bank, National Board of Revenue (NBR), Finance Ministry, Law Ministry, Commerce Ministry, law enforcement agencies and intelligent agencies.
