The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) chairman Iqbal Mahmood on Wednesday said students, guardians, teachers, and officials are also to be blamed alongside the Education Ministry on the incidents of question leak.
He also called upon the administration, teachers, education officials and public representatives to work together to ensure proper education in the classroom.
He said these at a field-level discussion on corruption prevention titled 'Corruption-free Public Services and Nature of Corruption Allegations' held at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office in Chandpur district, according to an ACC press release.
The ACC chief said, "There is no gain in blaming only Education Ministry on question leak; in this regard, guardians, students, teachers and other officials should also be blamed."
Mr Mahmood said expertise, capabilities and intelligence of a person will be wasted if someone takes certificate appearing at examinations on leaked questions.
Mentioning that there is no shortage of employment opportunity for efficient educated people in the country, he said, "If there was scarcity of jobs in the country, thousands of foreigners wouldn't have come to Bangladesh for work."
DC of Chandpur Abdus Sabur Mandal, ACC director general (prevention) Md Zafar Iqbal, and additional district magistrate Ayesha Aktar were also present on the occasion.
