Mirpur market catches fire

An incident of fire took place on Friday at Purabi Super Market, Mirpur in the capital.

However, there was no report of casualties.

A duty officer at Fire Service and Civil Defence control room told the FE that they had received information on the fire incident at around 9:18 am.

Two firefighting units rushed to the spot around 9:28 am and managed to douse the flame by 10:33 am.

The fire originated from the ground floor of the market.

The cause of the blaze and extent of damage could be ascertained after investigation, said the official.
