Miscreants loot gold from a trader in city

A group of miscreants looted around 10-12 tolas gold from a gold trader after shooting him openly last night in city's Shakari Bazar area, reports BSS.

Officer -in- Charge (OC) of Kotwali thana Abul Hasan told the news agency that the police rescued the injured gold trader -Gouranga Gosh, 50, from the spot and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.

A group of 3-4 youths attacked the gold trader who received a bullet at his leg when he returned home from his shop at around 9pm on Thursday.

Meanwhile, police also arrested a miscreant with firearm from the spot when they tried to escape after the incident, said the police official.

The arrested was identified as Asif, 25.
