MIST holds 9th council meeting

The ninth meeting of the council of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) was held at Mirpur Cantonment in the city Thursday, report agencies.
Education Adviser Ayub Quadri chaired the meeting while Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Sarwar Jahan Nizam, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal SM Ziaur Rahman and Lt Gen Jahangir Alam Chowdhury representing the Army Chief were present, among others, in the meeting.
The meeting discussed various issues including annual budget of the MIST for 2008-2009, increasing of students in MIST, employment policy of civil teachers and officers of the institute, and Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) between different national and international universities and the MIST.
The members of the council also touched on higher education policy of teachers and civil staff officers and selection of president for the organisation of governing body of MIST.
The council members in the meeting took necessary decisions on the discussed issues, ISPR sources said.
