Mobile courts fine 20 business institutions

Mobile courts Thursday fined 20 business institutions in six districts for different offences like preparing Iftar items in unhealthy environment and selling date-expired products.

Led by officials of Directorate of National Consumers Rights Protection (DNCRP), the mobile courts were conducted in Dhaka, Brahmanbaria, Natore, Lakshmipur, Narsingdi and Lalmonirhat, said a press release. They fined the business institutions Tk 137,000.

Of the business institutions, two are in Dhaka, six in Lalmonirhat and three each in Brahmanbaria, Natore, Lakshmipur and Narsingdi.

Police, officials of Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB), local chambers and other government offices assisted the drives.
