Mohammad Azam named Bangla Academy DG

Mohammad Azam, professor of Bangla Department at Dhaka University, has been named as the new director general (DG) of Bangla Academy, reports bdnews24.com.

Khalil Ahmed, secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, informed of the appointment on Thursday.

Asked about the matter, Prof Azam said: "I have received a letter appointing me as the director general of Bangla Academy. There are a few formalities at the university. I hope to join from Sunday after completing them."
