Mohan Mia's death anniv

The 53rd death anniversary of Yusuf Ali Chowdhury, a philanthropist and social activist, was Sunday (November 26), says a press statement.

Yusuf Ali Chowhdury, popularly known as Mohan Mia, was born in an aristocratic 'zamindar' family of Faridpur. He was known for his philanthropy and promotion of education among the disadvantageous people of the society.

He founded a number of educational institutions namely Maizuddin High School, Halima Students Home and Halima Girls School to commemorate his parents.

He set up another unique institution in 1945 on the outskirts of Faridpur town.
