CHITTAGONG, Oct 22: The menace of mosquitoes has made civic life quite intolerable in the Chittagong city. But no effective step is yet in sight to rescue city residents from the agony.
The Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) drains are filled with stagnant water and garbage which are the breeding grounds of these mosquitoes. In order to fight mosquito breeding, the CCC is supposed to spray insecticides in places where there is stagnant water. Residents hope that they do their job diligently.
The mosquito menace was the reason for the outbreak of malaria and dengue.
