CUMILLA, Aug 16 (BSS): A woman and her son were killed and father was injured after being hit by a covered-van on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Sadar Dakshin upazila of the district on Thursday.
The dead are Mariam Akter (20), wife of Yasin Miah of Chauddagram upazila of the district, and her one-year-four- month old son Alvi.
The accident occurred in the area when they were going to Bhagalpurin Cumilla Sadar Dakshin upazila from Chauddagram upazila riding a motorcycle. On the way, a covered van hit their bike around 1:30pm, leaving two of them dead on the spot and another injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mainamati Crossing Highway thana Iqbal Bahar Majumdar said.
