MoU signed for improved water access to urban poor

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dhaka Water and Sewerage Authority (DWASA) and NGO Forum for Public Health on Wednesday to improve the access to safe water for the slum people living in Dhaka and Narayanganj cities, reports UNB.
Commercial Manager of DWASA Uttam Kumar Roy and Executive Director of NGO Forum for Public Health MA Rashid signed the MoU for their respective organisation.
Addressing the signing ceremony, the DWASA managing director Taqsem A Khan said the basic rights of millions of slum dwellers including availability of safe water and improved sanitation is imperative to mainstream the potentials of these disadvantaged communities.
The NGO Forum's executive director SMA Rashid underscored the need for improved water and sanitation facilities for poor communities in Dhaka and Narayanganj cities to ensure their better health and increase their working capabilities.
