Mozena lauds health sector achievements

LAXMIPUR, Sep 24 (BSS/UNB): US Ambassador Dan W Mozena today appreciated development of child and maternal health in Bangladesh and said his country has partnership in this achievement.
Bangladesh witnessed massive development in the health sector with decline in child and maternal mortality rates, he said talking to journalists after visiting Laxmipur Sadar Hospital and attending a workshop of USAID health project 'Ma Moni'.
The envoy said he was happy to see that the US partnership has a strong impact on Laxmipur.
The partnership of US for development of Bangladesh would continue, he added.
Mozena said the United States would help open a new ward in the hospital to present heaths of the newborns.
He was happy to know that Laxmipur produces most of soybean in Bangladesh. The envoy said he passed his childhood in a soybean farm in the US.
Dan Mozena lauded 'access to information' project in Laxmipur and said the US is also a partner to this.
The ambassador exchanged views with the local administration at the circuit house.
Mozena, in the meeting with government officials, also said he is impressed by the natural beauty in Laxmipur.
