Police arrested a mugger along with a firearm after a gunfight at Kallyanpur in the city Wednesday midnight, police said.
On a tip-off, a team from Mirpur police station chased a gang of snatchers while they were preparing to commit crimes at Kallyanpur playground at about 11:45pm, a sub-inspector of the police station, Shajahan Khan, told the FE. Sensing the presence of the police team, the snatchers opened fire on them forcing the law enforcers to retaliate causing a gunfight.
