National Association of UNESCO Clubs in Bangladesh thanked Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid for unprecedented success of the government for timely distribution of new books among primary-secondary students at the beginning of new academic year, reports UNB.
In a statement, Mahbubuddin Chowdhury, secretary general of the association, hailed the government for complying with the commitment to provide books free to the students timely despite a lot of hurdles and a big fire incident at the main book godown.
He expressed the hope that the official steps would help reduce the number of school dropouts to a great extent.
